Meet MJ.
A seasoned coach, and an experienced consultant, MJ specialises in helping people manage emotional and mental health challenges. He provides a safe and confidential space for clients to explore their issues and develop strategies for coping and thriving. He understands the need for a private space where you can talk freely, without judgement.
MJ believes therapy is like having access to a secret weapon in your back pocket when you need to stand against the world that is appearing to crumble. But often people do not believe that they have that power buried deep inside them, MJ helps them identify and overcome obstacles that might be holding them back.
He is into fitness and health, and strongly believes that similar to taking care of your physical health, mental health therapy is a form of preventative maintenance for your mental well-being before it is too late. He equips you with tools to manage stress, anxiety, or other challenges you might face in life.
Migrating to Australia in the early 2000’s he understands the challenges such as loss of identity, loneliness, homesickness and culture shock and the desire to overcome all of it.
In addition to his professional pursuits, MJ is a dedicated father of two. He possesses a deep understanding of the complexities involved in fostering a keen sense of identity in his children who are first-generation Australians.

Who will get the best out of me?
People who feel they are at a dead end and running out of options. Remember, it is never too late.
Being a migrant from Southeast Asia and marrying into a European family, I bring unique perspectives from both the sides. It is a complex world to navigate. I understand the struggle with one’s identity, caught between embracing one’s heritage and fitting into a new culture. This internal conflict can spill over into family tension, especially when family members adjust at different speeds.
I am also sensitive to the losses that come with immigration, the friends and families left behind. Language barriers, discrimination, and financial difficulties can add layers of isolation and frustration.
There is another layer too: generational differences. Kids might adapt faster, creating a disconnect with parents holding onto traditions. While the kids struggle to create their own identity that is different to their parents.
By recognising these complexities and using culturally sensitive approaches, I can empower my clients from migrant families. It is about helping them navigate challenges and build a fulfilling life in their new home.
Sounds like a good fit?
